Sakelathan & Chulaghar in the USA
In January 2025, our community purchased eight acres of land in Brimfield, Massachusetts, to establish Sakelathan and Chulaghar in the United States.
Sakelathan will provide a permanent space for Sakela celebrations, cultural gatherings, and community events. Chulaghar will serve as a sacred place for our traditional ancestor worship and spiritual rituals.
Discussions began in 2014 under President Pravaker Rai, continued with planning and feasibility studies under Bishnu Kumar Rai, and advanced during Muna Rai’s presidency with seed funding and the formation of a 32-member Sakelathan Committee. With contributions from members and well-wishers, this long-standing vision has become a reality.
